How To Identify
Wants vs Needs?
Think Before You Buy
Before you spend your money, ask yourself: "Do I really need this to get through the day, or do I just want it because it’s cool?" For example, you need a warm coat for winter, but you might just want a brand-new pair of trendy sneakers. Be honest with yourself!
Check the "What If?"
Ask yourself what would happen if you didn't buy the item. If your life or health would be in trouble without it, it’s a need. If you’d just be a little bored or disappointed, it’s a want. Buying apples and bread at the store are needs; getting a pizza delivery or a fancy milkshake are wants.
Make a Plan
List everything you spend money on each month. Put them into two groups: "Must-Haves" and "Fun-to-Haves." This helps you see where your money goes so you can make better choices.
